What Is Changing?

Effective Aug 3, 2026, Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) will no longer be available as a Type of Service under the Community Mental Health (Outpatient) Review Type. For all prior authorization requests for Crisis Stabilization services, providers must select the following:

Review Type: Crisis Stabilization for Community Mental Health
Place of Service: Community Mental Health Center (automatically populated)
Type of Service: Crisis Stabilization Unit (automatically populated)

Reminders: Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) prior authorization requests must be submitted within one (1) business day of admission.
